How is that life looking to you and how is it treating you? We are pretty much sure that you are not able to figure out a life without teachers. We mean how would you be learning things, how would your personality be growing, and lots of other stuff?
Teachers are the ones who shape the minds of little children. It is only the teachers who help the kids reach their full potential. Teachers do not only help students to learn about new things and done. Each teacher has to mould their teaching styles to suit individual children’s needs and be patient with their students. This is a sign of a good teacher. We are pretty sure that you might have a special teacher in your life that you have special regard for. We all have teachers who have helped us shape our personalities and be what we are today.
Teachers are instructors, mentors, confidants, advocates, and many more personalities that are important in sculpting the next generation of thinkers and leaders. We can go on and on while talking about our teachers. It is their impact on us that we simply cannot stop talking about them. 5th September is Teacher’s Day.
It was a big day for us when we were in schools and colleges. But, as adults, this day has not been active in our lives. Of course, we do remember the fun we had on this day when we were kids, we think about our teachers, and we think about the fun we had back then. But, we do not get to celebrate this day as adults. However, there is no rule about it. If you wish to, you can still celebrate this day as an adult. Here are some ways how you can do it.
- Plan a cute cafe outing with your besties and your teacher
There is nothing better than meeting your besties and your teachers in person on this special day. So, all you have to do is plan a meet-up on this day. Just meeting your teachers will not be enough and you might run out of topics to talk about. Hence, one of the best things is also to include your buddies, childhood friends, schoolmates, classmates, and college mates for this little reunion. Planning a massive reunion with dress codes, a fancy place, and exquisite food is unrealistic at this age. So, we want you to do things that are easy on the forefront.
You just need to pick up your phone, call or text your friends on any social media app (if you don’t have their numbers) and ask about their availability for this day. You must share your plan and what’s on your mind and maybe convince them of this little reunion. The next step would be to finalise a cafe and book reservations over there. The final step is to call your teacher and ask her if she is free for the day and if she is willing to join you in the plan. When things are in place, now no one can stop you from having a cute cafe outing like this. Your inner kid is going to be so happy.
- Surprise your teacher at their place with some gifts and snacks
We again want to be real and realistic as much as possible. We know that not all your friends are going to be in the same city at this time. Also, not everyone is going to agree to your plan and that should not be the reason that disrupts your plan. So, an easy plan or an easy way out is to surprise your teacher at their place. But, when you are visiting them on this day, you must visit them with some snacks and gifts. You don’t want them to get bothered to greet you with food and refreshments.
But, before visiting them, you must call them and check for their availability. You need to tell them about your plan. In case, you want to surprise them, then the case is something different. It is also good but your teacher might also have plans on this day with their present students. So, figure out a middle ground. Now, coming about the gifts. You must also take some cute gift for them from your own earned money as this can be a great gratitude expression towards them. - Plan on a Google-meet up with all your classmates and teacher
We keep getting realistic with each pointer down below. There is no shame in accepting the fact that as we grow up, our adult life chaos keeps us hooked. As adults, life completely changes with time, with extra added responsibilities, and even our daily life work. For most of us, even our cities and countries change as per our work. So, having a meet-up, reunion, or party on Teacher’s Day is not a possible idea for most of us. But, still, all of these do not stop us from re-living our childhood moments. After all, we all are kids at heart, aren’t we?
This is why we believe no distance, work, or any other barrier must come in between when you want to celebrate such special occasions. So, organising a small Google meetup with your favourite teachers and your classmates is feasible for one and all. If you are the one initiating this meetup, maybe you will have to do all the work that includes planning, setting up the meeting link, reaching out to all your friends, and asking your teacher’s permission, willingness, and availability for the same. This is going to be so much fun, nostalgic, and amazing to say the least.
- Visit your school/college on this day and meet your teachers
Now, we are talking about some real ways in which you can celebrate teacher’s day as an adult. We say this way as the real way because this involves you celebrating the teacher’s day in the OG way. As kids, we all mostly used to celebrate Teacher’s Day in our schools, institutes, colleges, tuitions, and coaching centres. But, the first place that has taught you to celebrate this day is your school. Every year, a special function was organised in our schools on this day and we all used to give cute little gifts to our favourite teachers. Most of the schools called students in casuals, offered food and sweets, and lots of programmes were involved.
Now, as an adult, this just looks like a privilege to visit your school and celebrate Teacher’s Day as we did as kids. This is not always possible but once in a while if you are in your hometown on this day and would want to celebrate this day, visiting your school is always a great idea. Not only will you be able to check out the latest programmes going on, have food, and meet your teachers. You can actually live in the past once more. You can also get introduced to the present students as an alumni to share your story. It is going to be thrilling.
- Write a heartfelt letter with your success story and post it
If none of the above-mentioned ways excites you or makes it possible for you to celebrate Teacher’s Day, then you can go ahead with this one. This is probably the simplest way to celebrate the Teacher’s Day as an adult. This one is without any fuss and any bigger problem. You do not have to make a plan, not consult anyone, not include any of your classmates, or do anything of that sort. As per this idea, all you have to do is write a success story to your teacher. No amount or quality of gifts is going to make your teacher rather than sharing your success stories with them. So, write a heartfelt letter to your teacher. Make sure to share your career journey with them in detail. They are going to be so moved by this gesture.
